I'm an NCPS-registered psychotherapist working exclusively with women because I believe in the power of a dedicated space where women can feel fully understood and supported.
I offer a balance of empathy, insight and practical guidance to help you untangle what's on your mind.
My background includes many years supporting women and children as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator, acting as an advocate and steady guide through both complex systems and emotional challenges. As my work became increasingly therapeutic, it naturally led me to establish Emma Keast Counselling.
My own experience of navigating and recovering from bilateral breast cancer deepened my understanding of how life can suddenly shift beneath us. It led me to reflect on identity, resilience, loss, uncertainty and what it means to rebuild a life after significant change. While your journey will be uniquely your own, this experience has strengthened my belief in the importance of compassionate support during life's most challenging moments.
Today, I offer a grounded, compassionate space where women can feel heard, understood and empowered to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
I am a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and work in accordance with their professional and ethical standards. I also hold a full DBS.

Recognising that everyone is different and that there is no single path to healing, I draw from person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT approaches to help you gently challenge old belief systems, unpick unhelpful patterns, and recognise the strengths and inner resources you already hold. I offer encouragement and affirmation while supporting meaningful, lasting change. I will walk alongside you with support, validation, and accountability, creating a space where your progress, big or small, is noticed, valued, and celebrated.
In our first few sessions, we’ll take things gently. You’ll have space to talk about what’s brought you here and what you’re hoping for, without any pressure to share more than feels comfortable. Together, we’ll begin exploring your story, noticing patterns, and understanding what feels most important for you right now. These early sessions are about building trust, finding our rhythm, and creating a supportive, collaborative space where you can begin to feel grounded, understood, and ready to move forward at your own pace.
It can be daunting contacting a therapist when we are already struggling to take action, but making contact is the first step to you exploring who, and why, you 'are'.
So, tell me a little bit about what brings you to Emma Keast Counselling and I will get back to you with a time and day, to have a free 20 minute telephone consultation with you.
Be brave and reach out. I look forward to meeting you, wherever you are on your journey.
